Linear Lighting is a very commonly used lighting technique by designers and architects. However it might be very challenging when it comes to choosing the right products for the application. The primary reason for the challenge is that long linear lines of light typically have light output and color inconsistencies along the run. These effects are very noticeable to the eye and effects the quality of the lighting design greatly.
In this course the audience is to learn what type of technologies and products attributes eliminate the challenges so that the intended design is achieved on Day 1 and the lighting quality is sustained throughout the entire lifetime of the products.
Learning Objectives
1. Design challenges of linear lighting
2. Technologies used on linear LED products that make the light output consistent and separate some products form others.
3. Technologies used on linear LED products that makes the color/chromaticity consistent, both the beginning and over the lifetime of the installation.
4. The effect of heat on linear LED products and the measures to eliminate excessive heat buildup to preserve color consistency and extend lifetime.
